A sad month for showjumping, both in Australia and internationally, with the loss of two legends. Our very dear Bob Brook passed away and the magnificent “Hickstead”. Bob has been a true and wonderful servant to our sport and it has been an honour to know him. Hickstead and Eric Lamarze have been true inspirations and we have all watched in awe this extraordinary partnership perform at the highest level for many years. Our sympathies to the Brook family and to Eric and a huge thank you to Bob and Hickstead for enriching our lives.
On a lighter note – while John, Shelley and James were enjoying a weekend in Mudgee with friends and attending the Day on the Green Cold Chisel concert (awesome, awesome weekend) Erin, Vicki, Bec and Emma were at Jump Club doing a super job with their horses. Bec has just bought Jack back in and promptly jumped a beautiful double clean in the 1.10m class. Erin won the 1.00m class on Sonny and stepped him up to 1.10 for another lovely confident clear. Vicki jumped a confident 95cm with Ziggy and Emma and Chesty (ably assisted by Giorga) managed a beautiful double clear in the 1.30m class. Well done girls and great for us to receive such happy, positive message from everyone as we were travelling home from our weekend with “Jimmy”.
Emma and Chesty are now preparing for Wodonga in between studying for final Uni exams. Good Luck Em.
