Michelle Kelly

Michelle (Shelley) Kelly is a national showjumping rider, and was on the National  Showjumping Squad for Sydney 2000.  She has won the Australian Grand Prix at Wentworth Park. Shelley has started and brought many horses through the grades for clients, and specialises in putting individual plans together to suit the different horses’ personalities.

Shelley also has a Master of Exercise Science (Rehabilitation) and a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Exercise Science and Psychology.  She teaches Sports Science at TAFE and facilitates exercise rehabilitation programs for injured sports people, the elderly and the general community.  Teaching at TAFE ensures that she keeps abreast of current teaching and Sports Science practices, and can continue to apply these to the services provided by CK Equestrian.  Shelley’s academic qualifications help her understand a rider’s physical and psychological reactions under the pressure of competition, and gives her the knowledge and skills to guide the rider to control performance limiting responses.

Her focus is:

  • providing a full competition management programme for both horse and rider including psychological management as well as physical training programmes for both horse and rider
  • training horses for showjumping
  • training showjump riders
  • competing in showjumping
  • conducting Showjumping Clinics throughout the east coast of Australia.
