Sydney Royal Easter Show 2013

  • Well another successful “Royal” has come and gone and we were also blessed with wonderful weather.
  • Simon and James were once again stewarding and, as always, it was great to catch up with our “country” friends and enjoy the Campdraft and Rodeo as well as the “relatives” in the Tent Pegging and the Cattle exhibiting. Todd and Tony Biffin were once again very successful with their beautiful Ayrshire Cattle and Wayne and his boys were again superb in their Tent Pegging. Congratulations to Rocket for his outstanding 2nd place in the Campdraft. You are a legend Rocket!!! and always beautiful to watch!
  • It was a pleasure to have Anna White training for a month before having her first start at Sydney and it was an absolute thrill for all when she gained a 4th place in the Amateur class. We rode horses for her Grandparents so it was wonderful to be celebrating her achievements with Grandma Val and her mum Kate and dad Andrew.
  • Erin and Sonny were superb, and even though Erin was disappointed in having a couple of rails down, this is a horse that would not jump 75cm and consistently jacked up when asked to jump something a little spooky. Congratulations Erin on taking a damaged pony back to having a smile on his face and cruising around 1.15cm!! Pat yourself on the back!
  • Craig… what can we say?! You and Fi Fi came to Sydney with only a few starts together and not knowing how she would handle the atmosphere, let alone the difficulty of the Young Rider tracks. You nursed her around the first few starts with her jumping better and better and finished with a super clean round in the Young Rider Grand Prix in your last start. By far the least experienced horse in the class and lucky to have you there for her. You are such a team and we all enjoyed being part of your team with Fi  Fi’s owners Stuart and Kirsty.
  • Lane… your coach (Craig) did it a couple of years ago. Came into Sydney as a young boy on his Clydie cross and won the Champion Young Rider title. You too have done exactly the same… came to Sydney as a young boy (only 15 years old), won and placed in all your starts and took home first place in the Junior Grand Prix and Junior Boy title on your Clydie cross.  WOW WOW WOW, Well done and congratulations to you, your family and of course Blossom. Go Bega!!!
  • Emma also enjoyed her first Part 1 ribbon with a 4th in the prestigious EFA Cup. Well done Em and Chesty.
